BrokerProof Rating methodology
How the 1.0–5.0 star rating on every broker profile is calculated, and what can and cannot influence it.
What counts
Only reviews that meet BrokerProof's internal verification standard — Verified Client or Verified Transaction — are averaged into the official rating. Pending, disputed, and unverified reviews never affect the public number, even while visible elsewhere in a clearly separate context.
Category scores
Reviewers rate brokers across 13 specific categories — deeper than a single star average, so you can see exactly where a broker is strong:

What never counts
Membership tier is not a parameter anywhere in the calculation — see the pure, tested function at src/lib/rating/calculateRating.ts. Anonymity (hiding a reviewer's public identity) does not remove a review's eligibility, since BrokerProof still verifies it internally.
